Core and non-core pixel setups

Meta has protections in place to ensure that you always have control over what data enters your business account.

One such protection is preventing the transmission of custom parameters or URL parameters from the domain to your events manager. This protection is enabled by activating core setup in your Meta Pixel.

Anonymised can still send AudienceLift signals by naming the events in a way that is accepted but in order to do so we need to know if your pixel is running core or non-core.

To determine which setup you have:

  1. Go to Meta Events Manager.

  2. Click Datasets in the left menu of the page.

  3. Select the name and ID of your data.

  4. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.

  5. Scroll down to Data restrictions.

  6. Against Core Setup, check if the status is On or Off

Please notify your Client Success manager or support of this setting.

For more information on Core setup please refer to the Facebook Business Help article: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/124742407297678.
